Texas A&M out-hit the Razorbacks but they also walked 14 batters. It’s going to be hard to beat a team when you are constantly allowing your opponent to get free passes. Arkansas had an early lead that was erased by the top of the fifth by the Aggies and the game remained tied until the bottom of the eighth.
They gave up a two-run home run to Arkansas going down 5-7 headed into the top of the ninth. With a chance for some heroics, Texas A&M had three of the leaders of this ball club up to bat. However, there was no storybook ending here, Jack Moss grounded out, Trevor Werner struck out, and Brett Minnich popped one up to third base for an easy out.
The Aggies still have two games left to try to extend their SEC series streak, but they have to clean up the pitching and capitalize on the easy opportunities to give themselves a chance.
Game two will start at 12 pm on Friday, April 28th.
