The first surprise selection of the 2023 NFL draft, the Seahawks massively improve their already stacked defensive back room with the feisty defensive back from Illinois in Devon Witherspoon.

Witherspoon dominated in his final college season as he was the top defender for that Illinois defensive and did not allow a single touchdown, and gave up a passer rating of 25.3 when targeted. He was a lockdown corner who played with a huge chip on his shoulder that lead to his ultra-aggressive style of play.

It is going to be the new ‘Legion of Boom’ in Seattle as Witherspoon will start right away next to last year’s dominant rookie corner Tariq Woolen. While Woolen has the height, weight, and speed combo that all teams want, Witherspoon brings the aggressiveness, swag, and refinement that is needed to create an elite and well-rounded cornerback room.
