The UFC is in need of a new main event for June 3.
A UFC Fight Night event scheduled for the UFC Apex in Las Vegas has lost its headliner. [autotag]Jack Hermansson[/autotag] has withdrawn from his five-round middleweight bout vs. [autotag]Brendan Allen[/autotag] for undisclosed reasons.
A person with knowledge of the change informed MMA Junkie on Thursday, but asked to remain anonymous because the promotion has yet to make an official announcement. MMA Mania first reported the news.
Whenever he returns, Hermansson (23-8 MMA, 10-6 UFC) will look to reenter the win column after a TKO loss to Roman Dolidze this past December. Hermansson has alternated wins and losses over the span of his past eight fights.
If he remains on the card, Allen (21-5 MMA, 9-2 UFC) will aim to extend a four-fight winning streak. His victories in that stretch are over Sam Alvey, Jacob Malkoun, Krzysztof Jotko and Andre Muniz.
With the change, the UFC Fight Night lineup for June 3 now includes:
- Brendan Allen vs. TBA
- Mayra Bueno Silva vs. Miesha Tate
- Amir Albazi vs. Kai Kara-France
- Ludovit Klein vs. Jim Miller
- Alex Caceres vs. Daniel Pineda
- Tim Elliott vs. Rodrigo Nascimento
- Jinh Yu Frey vs. Elise Reed
- David Onama vs. TBA
- Da’Mon Blackshear vs. Luan Lacerda
