AEW Dynamite results: Jade Cargill squeaks by Taya Valkyrie to stay undefeated

Taya Valkyrie couldn’t use her finisher, which proved costly.

Taya Valkyrie won’t be allowed to use the Road to Valhalla finisher since it infringes on Jaded, or something like that. But the announcers correctly point out it’s a bit arrogant for Jade Cargill and her team to think that Taya is only that move.

Valkyrie get off to a quick start, able to match power with the champ and pepper her with right hands. She considers Road to Valhalla but remembers she cant use it, and Cargill rakes her eyes to take control of the action.

Cargill runs into a big boot and is flipped over the top rope, then sent to the floor. Valkyrie thinks about taking flight but hits the brakes when she sees Jade move, and Cargill slams her back first on the floor.

The champ is still in control after some side-by-side ads, but she soon finds herself kicking out of a pinfall attempt. Cargill evades a corner charge and sets her opponent on the top turnbuckle. Taya shoves her to the floor, but Jade pops right back up to deliver a superplex.

Cargill sells the impact to her back for a second before launching into a Canadian Destroyer. That only gets two, and Valkyrie counters the Jaded into a sequence that ends in a double stomp, and now Jade has to kick out.

After some back and forth on the mat, Cargill is able to roll up Valkyrie and hold on for the three count. An upset Taya bum rushes Mark Sterling and is about to give Aubrey Edwards the Road to Valhalla when other officials rush in to stop her from doing something she’ll later regret.
