The Aggie bats started off hot and the pitching was on point giving them the win to even up the series. No. 24 Texas A&M (28-17, 9-11 SEC) got their revenge after a chippy game one against Ole Miss (27-20, 6-11 SEC) winning 6-3.
Texas A&M started quickly causing Ole Miss to go to the bullpen early. A Koko Wooley single and two hit batters loaded the bases for Julia Cottrill. She singled to right field scoring Wooley then Morgan Smith hit a double to bring in Amari Harper, Trinity Cannon, and Cottrill to go up 4-0.
Ole Miss was able to get on the board in the bottom of the third with a solo home run and a base hit to cut the lead in half. The Aggie responded off a clutch double by Cottrill allowing Wooley and Cannon to score for a 6-2 score.
The score stood still until the bottom of the seventh inning when Ole Miss hit a solo home run, but Emiley Kennedy came in and induced a flyout, a ground out then struck out the last batter for a final of 6-3.
Final Score: Aggies 6, Rebels 3 – W: Leavitt, Emily (9-5); L: Sparks, Grace (4-4); S: Kennedy, Emiley (2)
