Vols’ 2024 legacy includes Tennessee in top five schools

Tennessee is one of five schools for a Vols’ 2024 legacy safety.

Four-star safety Jaydan Hardy announced his top five teams on Thursday.

Tennessee, Oklahoma, SMU, Oregon and Texas A&M are Hardy’s top five.

The 6-foot, 170-pound safety is from Lewisville High School in Lewisville, Texas.

Hardy is the No. 168 overall prospect in the class of 2024. He ranks as the No. 14 safety and No. 33 player in Texas, according to On3 industry rankings.

He was named the Texas District 6-6A MVP last season, recording 42 total tackles, three tackles for a loss, seven pass breakups, one interception and two forced fumbles.

As a freshman in 2020, Hardy was named the Texas District 6-6A Defensive Newcomer of the Year.

His father, Darryl Hardy, played linebacker at Tennessee from 1988-91. He earned first-team All-SEC honors in 1991.
