Hubert Davis and the UNC basketball program landed another recruit out of the transfer portal. After taking a visit to Chapel Hill this past week, former Notre Dame guard Cormac Ryan pledged to UNC.
Ryan is the third player to pick the Tar Heels out of the transfer portal, joining Paxson Wojcik and Jae’Lyn Withers. The guard opted to transfer from Notre Dame and find a new team.
The New York native was a four-star recruit and picked Stanford over Michigan, Northwestern, Notre Dame and Villanova in his original recruitment. After one year at Stanford, he opted to transfer to Notre Dame.

Last season Ryan averaged 12.3 points, 4 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game while shooting 40.9% from the field. That included shooting 34.4% from the 3-point line.
UNC has lost six players to the transfer portal and two to graduation, creating some needs for the roster. While they have filled a few, they are still pursuing other prospects.
