The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been bringing in numerous edge rushers in for visits in the pre-draft process, so it stands to reason that there may be a little fire where the smoke has been coming from.
PFF seems to think so, too, writer Michael Renner has the Bucs going edge rusher in the site’s latest mock. The player in question, though, is not commonly mocked to Tampa Bay, as many don’t think he’ll be there when the Bucs pick at No. 19.
Here is what PFF said about the pick:
The Bucs just need to reload at valuable positions to get themselves out of the cap-strapped position they are in. Murphy makes a lot of sense as a high-end, toolsy project.
PFF has Murphy at No. 5 on their EDGE board, while The Draft Network has him at No. 2. Most pundits and experts believe Murphy will likely be gone by the time the Bucs pick at No. 19, but if he wasn’t, it would be hard for Jason Licht and Tampa Bay to pass on such a talent.
