It’s no secret the Pittsburgh Steelers are one of the safer teams in the NFL when it comes to the NFL draft. You could even say that under former general manager Kevin Colbert, the team was a little boring. But boring worked.
But it’s no secret the Steelers are currently playing catchup in the AFC. So will general manager Omar Khan take a more aggressive approach in an attempt to jumpstart this franchise?
Personally, I think that is highly unlikely. The influence of the Rooney family and head coach Mike Tomlin is too strong for Khan to just do his own thing. And if we know anything, Tomlin and the Rooneys have a steady-as-she-goes kind of mindset.
This means the Steelers won’t make a trade and instead will let the first round come to them, opting for a safe pick at No. 17. But which pick is the safest?

Cast your vote and let us know. We’ve opted for Maryland cornerback Deonte Banks, Tennessee offensive tackle Darnell Wright and Georgia edge Nolan Smith as the three players who should be on the board and should be on the team’s radar.
