The USC Trojans’ addition of talent has been enormous this offseason. The freshman class has plenty of names. One of them is five-star wide receiver Zachariah Branch, who made his first appearance at the Trojans’ spring game on Saturday.
Branch is expected to be a focal part of the new-look WR room that includes Makai Lemon and Arizona transfer Dorain Singer. The loss of Jordan Addison might not be too severe with these guys in town.
Branch struggled a bit on Saturday and dropped a few passes, which is somewhat expected from a freshman with a ton of hype and a lot of pressure swirling about.
However, he also showed some grown-man strength and was able to flash his overwhelming, eye-popping athleticism.
Caleb Williams seemed happy with what he saw from his new receiver, and perhaps Branch can emerge into the role of being one of Williams’ go-to weapons this season.
The WR group in general had a rough day, but hopefully they can shake off the cobwebs and get used to catching passes from a Heisman Trophy winner. Even though Branch dropped some passes, he should have no problem adjusting and being a part of the offense in Year 1.
Watch this, and you’ll understand why:
