Less than half of the 24 fighters on the UFC 287 lineup in Miami are facing medical suspensions.
Friday, MMA Junkie obtained the list of medical suspensions from the Florida Athletic Commission, which oversaw this past Saturday’s event at Kaseya Center in Miami. While the commission discloses the duration of the suspensions, it does not reveal specifics of fighters’ injuries.
Middleweight champion Alex Pereira (7-2 MMA, 4-1 UFC), who lost the title to former champ and rival Israel Adesanya (24-2 MMA, 13-2 UFC) in the main event, was one of four fighters who were given suspensions of 60 days.
All five fighters who suffered knockout losses were given 60-day medical suspensions except Gerald Meerschaert (35-16 MMA, 10-8 UFC), whose first-round TKO setback to Joe Pyfer (11-2 MMA, 2-0 UFC) only warranted a 45-day sit.

(Note: Typically, fighters can return sooner than the conclusion of the suspension listed once they are cleared by a doctor.)
