Every projected starter and a lot of backups at important positions will be watched intently at USC football’s spring game on Saturday. Many different names and faces will draw attention and interest. However, among the three or four most eagerly-followed players on the Trojans’ roster, one would have to include Domani Jackson.
The cornerback briefly played last season but was injured and ultimately unable to stay on the field very long. It is hard to ignore what might have been for this defense had Jackson been healthy. It’s an absence which — combined with other injuries to Romello Height and Eric Gentry — eroded the depth of a defense which was wafer-thin to begin with. It’s not as though Alex Grinch did a great job, but it’s certainly true that he didn’t have a full complement of resources.
Getting a full season of Domani Jackson is paramount for USC in 2023, and that’s why his involvement in the spring game will be one of the top storylines.
