Five-star athlete Cameron Sparks unofficially visited Tennessee on Tuesday.
The visit is Sparks’ fourth to Tennessee in the last two years.
The 6-foot-3, 210-pound wide receiver is from Baylor School in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Sparks discussed his visit and updated his recruitment with Vols Wire.
“My biggest takeaway was just being able to get back on campus and be around the coaches and players,” Sparks said. “I do plan on returning to Tennessee sometime this summer.”
Sparks is the No. 18 overall prospect in the class of 2025. He ranks as the No. 1 athlete nationally and No. 1 player in Tennessee, according to the 247Sports composite.
The Vols are making an early impression on the in-state wide receiver.
“Tennessee is definitely up there in my recruitment status,” Sparks said about where the Vols stand in his recruitment. “Tennessee just has a really special culture and they’re all about getting to become close with the recruits and their families.
“My relationship with the staff is really good. I talk to coach (Max) Thurmond and coach (Kelsey) Pope the most.”
As a freshman and sophomore, Sparks played multiple positions on offense and defense. The 2025 prospect has not decided on his position at the collegiate level.
“I honestly don’t know what position I would play in college,” Sparks said. “If I got the opportunity to play both ways, that would be a blessing.”
Being in the class of 2025, Sparks’ recruitment is still early in the process. He is not looking to make a quick decision, but will begin narrowing his focus before his junior season.
“I just want to take this recruitment process slow and enjoy everything while I can,” Sparks said about his recruitment timeline. “I plan to narrow everything down before my senior season.”
