B/R gives Brooklyn Nets a C+ for the 2022-2023 season

Brooklyn Nets were given a C+ by Bleacher Report for the 2022-2023 season.

The Brooklyn Nets were given a C+ for the 2022-2023 NBA season, according to a recent article by Bleacher Report. Over the course of this season, the Nets finished the season with a 45-37 record and was able to earn the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs.

This season has been an interesting one for Brooklyn and could be best described as a tale of two halves. In the first half, the season was filled was drama as Steve Nash was fired as head coach after a 2-5 start and Jacque Vaughn was named as the head coach shortly afterwards. Then, there was the incident with Kyrie Irving when he tweeted a link to a film containing antisemitic material.

Despite the early season drama, Brooklyn was able to win 12 straight games as the squad was able to keep basketball the main thing. However, once Kevin Durant sprained his right MCL, things went downhill from there as Irving and Durant eventually requested trades. Here’s what B/R had to say about their season:

“The spectacular failure of the Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving era of the Brooklyn Nets has to be included in any analysis of this team.

Given the level of talent they had, and the sacrifices the team made to acquire and build around them, having to pull the plug midseason feels like a failure.

But given the lack of leverage Brooklyn seemed to have around the trade deadline, the team and assets the Nets emerged with are impressive.”
