Michigan football hasn’t tended to have the same kind of high-flying passing game as some other top programs. Yet, talent keeps coming to Ann Arbor.
Current players such as Cornelius Johnson, Roman Wilson, AJ Henning, Tyler Morris, and Darrius Clemons were all four-stars. Incoming wideout Karmello English, who hails from Alabama, is also a four-star. And the Wolverines have gotten the job done with those players, as well as three-stars such as Ronnie Bell.
Now Michigan is targeting another who hails from SEC country. 2024 Charlotte (N.C.) Christian receiver Micah Gilbert released his top seven on Sunday, and the Wolverines made the cut, along with South Carolina, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Virginia Tech, Duke, and Pitt.

Gilbert’s consideration of Michigan can only be aided by the pledge of five-star quarterback Jaydn Davis, who is also from Charlotte. He’s a bigger-bodied receiver at 6-foot-3, 205-pounds, and is rated by 247Sports’ proprietary rankings as the No. 199 player in the country, regardless of position.
According to 247Sports, Gilbert has some high-profile family who also played in the NFL, such as cousins Darrelle Revis and Jordan Whitehead.
