Four-star quarterback commits to Arkansas over UNC

The UNC football program lost out on a four-star quarterback in the 2024 recruiting class as he committed to Arkansas.

Mack Brown and the UNC football program received some disappointing news on Sunday in terms of a four-star recruiting target/

Quarterback KJ Jackson ended his recruitment on Sunday and pledged his verbal commitment to Arkansas. Jackson committed to the Razorbacks over 13 other offers including the Tar Heels. The 6-foot-3, 215-pound Jackson is a Montgomery, Alabama native and drew a lot of interest in his recruitment.

Jackson is ranked No. 391 nationally, No. 24 among quarterbacks, and No. 23 in the state per the 247Sports recruiting rankings.

For North Carolina, they were hoping to land a quarterback in the 2024 cycle but have now missed on a few prospects. In addition to Jackson, the Tar Heels have also lost out on Jake Merklinger, Jadyn Davis and Daniel Kaelin.

The Tar Heels currently have nine commitments in the 2024 recruiting class and it’s ranked No. 11 early in the cycle per the 247Sports rankings.
