Even after all they’ve been through lately, the Los Angeles Lakers will finish the 2022-23 season with a winning record and a spot in the play-in tournament.
It seems to represent vindication in progress for a team many believed would miss the playoffs again, especially after it started the season 2-10.
Although the Lakers have been getting healthier in recent weeks, a few of their best players are still nursing lingering injuries that have tested their newfound depth.
In addition, reserve guard Dennis Schroder missed Friday’s win over the Phoenix Suns with neck soreness, and he is listed on the injury report with soreness in his right Achilles tendon.

Given the Lakers will face the Utah Jazz, a mediocre team that is out of play-in contention, on Sunday afternoon, it may be prudent to sit Schroder as a precautionary measure. Achilles ailments are something no one wants to play around with.
