Billy Donovan: Chicago’s ‘biggest challenge’ against Toronto is size

For the Bulls to have a shot at the No. 8 seed in the East, they’ll have to overcome the Raptors’ size.

The Chicago Bulls’ play-in tournament fate is set.

On Tuesday, the Bulls will take on the Toronto Raptors for the right to play for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

Following Chicago’s 115-112 win over the Dallas Mavericks on Friday, Bulls coach Billy Donovan spoke on their ‘biggest challenge’ in facing Toronto.

“The biggest challenge that we’ve had against them is just their size,” Donovan said. “They play really, really big.”

Toronto won the season series 2-1 against the Bulls and since Feb. 3, are tied for the ninth-best record in the league at 17-11.

With the Raptors’ activity on the boards, ranking second in the league in offensive rebounds per game, Nikola Vucevic and company must compete down low.

“They’re long and a really good offensive rebounding team,” Donovan said. “Collectively, we’ll have to do a good job rebounding.”
