The North Carolina football program continues to build for its future and now has a chance to boost its secondary after being one of the schools to make the list for a top safety in the 2024 class.
Three-star safety Christian Peterson has 35 offers in his recruitment so far, gaining the most traction from ACC schools. However, now he is cutting the list to just eight schools.
On Wednesday, Peterson revealed that he would pick from North Carolina, Virginia Tech, Louisville, Mississippi State, Georgia Tech, UCF, and Texas A&M as the programs he will be moving forward with during the recruitment process.
The 5-foot-9, 175-pound safety comes from Westlake high-school out of Atlanta, Georgia. Peterson has garnered massive attention due to his sure tackling and ball-hawking abilities. The road will be challenging for UNC, with Peterson having seven other notable teams on his list, including three ACC schools.
