The transfer portal has already had a record number of players enter in just a few weeks.
That is fortunate for North Carolina. Hubert Davis and his staff have to hit the portal hard to fill a large number of roster spots. While they have already landed a commitment from a guard, they already have their eyes on another wing.
Former five-star forward Harrison Ingram is leaving Stanford after two seasons; he entered the portal a few days ago. He’s a former recruiting target of North Carolina who originally picked the Cardinal over the Tar Heels. Insider Andrew Slater of Cerebro Sports reports they are making a strong push once again for Ingram:
UNC-Chapel Hill is making a strong push for the Texas native. Wants to be a point forward https://t.co/dzkO72N2ED

Ingram’s new recruitment is still new, and there hasn’t been a lot of news out yet. However, it makes sense for North Carolina to be involved. It needs a wing that can score.
Last season, Ingram averaged 10.5 points, 5.8 rebounds and 3.7 assists for Stanford while shooting 40.8% from the field. As we mentioned, his recruitment in the portal has been quiet so far, but it wouldn’t be a surprise to see UNC get involved sooner than later.
