Good news: Arkansas is expected to be a Top-25 team next year. Bad news: Who knows who will be on the Razorbacks’ roster.
At any rate, the way things stand right now, with dozens of players across the country expected to announce entry into the NBA Draft, USA TODAY released its too-early Top 25 for next year. In it, the Hogs, who check in at No. 19.
The last couple days have helped make that possibility more likely. Forward Jalen Graham and guard Joseph Pinion both announced they would return to the team. But Devo Davis’ announcement he would enter the draft was a surprise in the other direction. That said, Davis seems more likely to return than not.
“The Razorbacks will try to build off a third consecutive trip to the tournament’s second weekend without Nick Smith and Anthony Black, both likely lottery picks. They could also lose fellow guard Ricky Council IV. But with just one player out of eligibility from this season’s roster and two incoming five-star signees, Arkansas will have the pieces for another deep run into March under coach Eric Musselman,” the piece reads.
Whether Arkansas is or isn’t in the Top 25 when the season starts next year or not is moot. The Hogs are settled a national power after three straight Sweet 16 appearances.
