Raptors’ Pascal Siakam believes Sixers’ Joel Embiid deserves to be MVP

Toronto Raptors star Pascal Siakam believes Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid deserves the MVP award.

The regular season is coming down to the final days, so it is time to finally put the MVP race to bed.

Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid is at the forefront of the discussions as the award is coming down to him, Nikola Jokic and Giannis Antetokounmpo. Embiid finished as the runner-up to Jokic in each of the previous two seasons.

Toronto Raptors star Pascal Siakam believes it’s Embiid’s time to win the award:

Gotta be my Cameroonian brother. It’s gotta be Embiid. He’s been doing it for years but just this year doing it at an incredible level. He’s just playing unbelievable basketball. The team is winning, he’s doing on both ends of the floor and I’m sure there’s like a lot of other people out there that deserve it. Like the (Jayson) Tatum’s and Jokic and all these people but I think for me, obviously I might be biased, but it will be awesome to see someone from where I’m from win an MVP like that would be crazy. It’s crazy inspiration just to know that man like this is really possible and not only that, not only that I’m biased. I think he also deserves it.

It will certainly be interesting to see what will happen with the MVP award. Embiid is averaging 33.3 points, 10.2 rebounds and 4.2 assists, and he is on the verge of winning another scoring title while shooting 54.7% from the floor. His dominant game of 52 points on 20-for-25 shooting in Tuesday’s win over the Boston Celtics should be the game that shuts the case on the MVP race.
