The Chicago Bulls have seen their fair share of University of North Carolina standouts join their roster over the years, most notably selecting Michael Jordan No. 3 overall in the 1984 NBA draft.
Jordan spent the majority of his NBA career with the Bulls, putting his name into the record books while helping deliver six NBA titles to the franchise. But on Wednesday night, he was passed by a former Tar Heel on the Bulls’ all-time 3-pointers made list.
In a loss at Milwaukee, former UNC standout Coby White finished with 14 points on 6 of 10 shooting. That included 2 of 4 from the 3-point line. The two 3-pointers gave him 556 in his career, moving him past Jordan for fifth on the all-time list for the franchise:
Coby White has moved up to No. 5 on the Bulls All-Time 3-pointers list, passing Michael Jordan.

White is behind Kirk Hinrich (1,049), teammate Zach LaVine (929), Ben Gordon (770) and Scottie Pippen (664).
After struggling with consistency, White is putting together the best season of his career. He’s averaging 9.5 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game, while shooting 43.5 percent from the field. White is shooting 37 % from the 3-point line this season.
He’s doing so in a contract year while coming off the bench as well. It’s hard to say what the future holds for White in Chicago but seeing his play this year, the Bulls may want to try to bring him back in free agency. However, he could have some suitors around the league in what should be an exciting summer for the former lottery pick.
