It was reported early Wednesday by The Athletic’s Tobias Bass that Aggies junior guard Khalen “K.K” Robinson has entered the transfer portal after one full season with the program.
Robinson arrived in College Station last offseason after transferring in from Arkansas, as the former Top-100 four-star recruit in the 2019 recruiting cycle felt that his time with Texas A&M would mean more playing time and a chance to develop and reach his full potential, but a stacked veteran roster kept him sidelined for a bulk of the 2022-2023 season.
Robinson appeared in 18 games for the Aggies last season but only averaged 1.8 points, where his hiring scoring output came against South Carolina in A&M’s blowout road victory, scoring a season-high 12 points and 3 rebounds on the night. Robinson will now join center Javonte Brown, and shooting guard Erik Pratt, both players who also received minimal playing time off the bench last season.
The transfer portal will stay open until May 11th, meaning that head coach Buzz Williams still has ample time to add pieces to an already talented and experienced roster that is just a couple of players away from contending for a National Championship in 2024.
