As the focus shifts to the transfer portal window over the next few weeks, the college basketball offseason is going to be a busy one.
That’s especially the case for the UNC basketball program that has some big holes to fill following six departures so far. UNC has added one player out of the portal but they need more as they have to find three new starters.
It’s possible they could go after a former recruiting target now that he’s available.
Former five-star recruit and UNC basketball recruiting target Harrison Ingram has officially enters the transfer portal, leaving Stanford after just two seasons. Ingram is coming off a 2022-23 campaign in which he averaged 10.5 points, 5.8 rebounds and 3.7 assists. As a forward, Ingram would fit in with UNC and would likely start on the wing right away.
Armando Bacot is even doing his best to recruit Ingram to UNC:

Ingram going into the portal is still fresh news, so there’s really no reports of teams reaching out to him yet.
However, he is one of the better options in the portal and someone that could fit UNC. So if the Tar Heels do show interest and reach out, it shouldn’t be shocking at all.
