Kentucky freshman Cason Wallace on Saturday told Jonathan Givony of ESPN that he will forgo his remaining college eligibility and declare for the 2023 NBA draft.
Wallace was named to the SEC All-Freshman Team after averaging 11.7 points, 4.3 assists, 3.7 rebounds and two steals on 34.6% shooting from 3-point range. He finished second in the conference in assists, fourth in assist-to-turnover ratio and fourth in steals.
The 6-foot-4 guard is most commonly projected to be a late lottery pick this year given his ability to shoot and defend. He brings a ton of energy on defense and has all of the tools and physical attributes to lock down opponents on a nightly basis.

Wallace, the former No. 7 recruit in the class of 2022, had a productive season for the Wildcats and helped the team advance to the round of 32. He will now be looking to continue that success into the pre-draft process and the NBA next season.
Underclassmen have until April 23 to declare for the draft.
