We and a lot of other NFL fans — and Peter King! — have been saying it: The idea of making late-season Thursday Night Football games flexible is a horrible one, for a variety of reasons, starting with player safety and ending with ticket sales.
The bad news: NFL owners did approve a change that makes the rules that a team can play twice on Thursday in a season instead of once.
The good news, for now: Owners tabled the vote on TNF flex scheduling until May, with those in favor not having enough votes to get it to pass.
Still, the news of the two-a-year change made Patrick Mahomes unhappy:
