Current and former LSU players, coaches, fans celebrate Tigers women’s basketball’s Final Four berth

It was a celebration among the LSU family on Sunday night.

For the first time since 2008, the LSU women’s basketball team is heading to the Final Four.

The No. 3-seeded Tigers survived in the Elite Eight on Sunday night against tournament Cinderella Miami. The No. 9-seeded Hurricanes had already pulled off three seed upsets, but the Tigers avoided the same fate as they’ll head to the national semifinals in coach Kim Mulkey’s second season with the 54-42 win.

LSU will play in the Final Four on Friday against the winner of Monday night’s contest between Virginia Tech and Ohio State, the No. 1 and 3 seeds, respectively, in their bracket.

After the win on Sunday night, the entire LSU family — players (both current and former), coaches and fans took to Twitter to celebrate the massive win.
