Lamar Jackson’s Ravens saga took another bizarre turn as NFL warned of a fake agent

If Jackson wants to leave Baltimore, he’ll probably have to find another way.

The more time wears on, the more it seems Lamar Jackson might really want to leave the Baltimore Ravens.

Over the past three weeks or so, Baltimore slapped the non-exclusive franchise tag on Jackson, the quarterback implied the Ravens lied about past contract negotiations, and he was connected to three new NFL teams, including the New England Patriots.

The latest development in this ongoing saga might be the weirdest.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the NFL sent a memo to all 32 teams warning them about someone named Ken Francis — a person not certified with the NFLPA as an agent — who is contacting squads to initiate hopeful contract negotiations. The news comes on the heels of Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio’s report that an individual was sending feelers out to prospective squads for Jackson.

And here’s the memo all of the squads received.

Please note the distinction that Francis is “prohibited” from facilitating negotiations on Jackson’s behalf. Jackson, who represents himself, is the only one who can negotiate contracts.

Jackson responded to the news about the memo, saying it was a lie:

It’s late March, and Jackson’s situation in Baltimore doesn’t appear to be en route to a quick resolution. This update may only further muddle Jackson and the Ravens’ complicated matter.
