Philadelphia 76ers forward Tobias Harris continues to chug along as the 2022-23 regular season comes to a close. The Sixers are 49-23 with 10 games to go before the playoffs begin after they picked up an easy win over the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday thanks to Harris.
Harris had 20 points on 5-for-9 shooting with nine rebounds and eight assists. He also shot 5-for-7 from the foul line. Harris doesn’t shoot many free throws, but his aggressiveness was important considering the Sixers were short-handed.
“Just being aggressive,” Harris told reporters. “That necessarily doesn’t mean looking for a shot every time. Just take what the defense is giving and with the added opportunities I was able to have on the offensive end in the half court, just being able to try to pick apart how they’re playing.”
The nine assists Harris had set the tone for the Sixers, who had 30 assists on 39 field goals. The ball movement was excellent all night. Along with his efficient scoring, he was sort of an offensive hub for Philadelphia.
“I know how they play and how they rotate on defense,” Harris added. “So just being able to look for my shot coming off, but also a lot of guys were open on those easy skip passes. I thought we shot we shot the ball really well and even had a lot of good looks that guys would love to have another shot and that’s that type of rhythm and the flow the whole team needs as we wind down the stretch that we have up until playoffs.”
Coach Doc Rivers was happy with Harris’ offensive production as the veteran out of Tennessee is letting the game come to him.
“Just letting it come,” Rivers said of Harris. “When it comes, he attacks. He’s making the right plays with the ball with his passing. Just tonight (Wednesday), honestly, everybody just we passed the ball. Man, we’re a different team when we do that.”
