New Fire Emblem Engage DLC adds an alternate timeline and new class

The fourth wave of Fire Emblem Engage DLC is coming up fast, with an alternate timeline story and a chance to join the other side. The DLC is Fell Xenologue, and it launches on April 4, 2023, for Nintendo Switch.

Fell Xenologue takes place outside the main story in a world where the Divine Dragon (that’s you) dies. Somehow, Alear comes back and joins with two new characters, Nel and Nil, on a quest to recover yet more Emblem items. This time, you’re after Emblem Bracelets, several of which seem to be missing.

Your allies are at war with each other and, quite literally, themselves. The Firenese fight the Brodians, and heroes like Celine and Fogado apparently face off against mirror versions of themselves at some point. Why this is happening and what your goal is – and, equally as important, what role Nel and Nil play – Nintendo didn’t say.

There’s also a new class, though Nintendo is remaining coy about that as well. Whether it’s a brand-new class or a returning one from Three Houses, such as the Grappler or Dark Mage, remains uncertain.

The fourth DLC wave is free to all who own the expansion pass. The previous waves of DLC added new Emblems, including Three Houses’ trio of heroes, and helpful items to boost your army’s stats.
