The North Carolina Tar Heels have lost another player to the transfer portal as the offseason rolls on.
A week after the Tar Heels lost Tyler Nickel, Dontrez Styles and Justin McKoy, they have lost forward Puff Johnson as well. The wing announced on Wednesday that he is entering the transfer portal and will look for a new home.
Johnson committed to North Carolina as part of the 2020 class over Arizona, Auburn and Ohio State among others. He played three seasons with the program and was expected to have a bigger role going into this season following his impressive play in the 2022 NCAA Tournament for the Tar Heels.

But Johnson battled injuries that hindered his development. He was one of the first players off the bench for UNC.
Johnson averaged 4.1 points and 2.7 rebounds per game while shooting 38.7% from the field this past season. In his career, he averaged 3.1 points and 1.9 rebounds per game while playing in just over 11 minutes per game.
The wing is expected to have significant interest from teams in the transfer portal.
