Through one week of its offseason, the UNC basketball program has had three players enter the transfer portal to begin the roster turnover. Among the three in the portal is forward Dontrez Styles, a former four-star recruit out of the state of North Carolina who played two seasons at UNC.
Styles is quickly gaining interest from programs, including one UNC would prefer him not to go to.
Jamie Shaw of On3 is reporting NC State is among the programs that have reached out to Styles. Joining the Wolfpack are West Virginia, LSU, Providence, Charlotte, Towson, Richmond, Florida Atlantic and East Carolina among others.

It’s no surprise Styles is drawing interes. He was a former top 75 recruit and a four-star player. The hope was Styles would develop into a starting forward for the Tar Heels, but he had limited playing time in his first two seasons.
Styles was a target of the Wolfpack during his recruitment, so it’s not shocking to see them interested once again.
