The rumor mill is in full force with the start of the new league year rapidly approaching on Wednesday at 4p.m. ET, and the Tennessee Titans are involved in that, as they are connected to former Las Vegas Raiders linebacker, Denzel Perryman.
According to Aaron Wilson of Click2Houston.com, the Titans have “strong interest” in the veteran linebacker, who is set to become a free agent. Also interested in Perryman’s services, per Wilson’s report, are the Houston Texans.
Perryman had spent the last two seasons with the Raiders but with the pair’s inability to come to an agreement on a contract, it looks like he’ll be playing elsewhere in 2023.
The 30-year-old linebacker received his first-career Pro Bowl nod in 2021 when he tallied 154 tackles, the sixth-most in the NFL.
He saw his 2022 campaign end early after 12 games due to a torn labrum that required surgery. On that front, it appears Perryman’s recovery is going well, with the linebacker expected to be fully cleared by April.

After the departures of David Long and Zach Cunningham, the Titans have signed a pair of linebackers in Luke Gifford, who figures to be a special teamer and backup, and Azeez Al-Shaair, who is capable of starting.
Those two are added to a group that includes Monty Rice, Chance Campbell and Jack Gibbens, all of whom lack experience. In fact, the new linebackers would be the elder statesmen of that group with their four years in the NFL, respectively.
An addition like Perryman would give the Titans a much-needed veteran presence who could provide a stopgap, so their interest is understandable.
