Report: Bears agree to terms with ex-Titans RG Nate Davis

The Chicago Bears are reportedly signing former Titans RG Nate Davis.

The Tennessee Titans have reportedly lost their starting right guard in free agency, as Nate Davis is signing with the Chicago Bears.

The news comes from NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. The pact is a three-year deal that comes in at $30 million, with $19.25 million guaranteed, per NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo.

The Titans losing Davis isn’t exactly surprising, as a few months back Jim Wyatt of Titans Online said he didn’t expect the Charlotte product to be re-signed.

A former third-round pick of the Titans in 2019, Davis spent four years as a starter and developed into a quality player.

However, the issue was Davis’ inability to make it through a full season. After missing three games in 2021, Davis missed a total of five in 2022. Adding to that, the 26-year-old missed three games his rookie season.

Granted, not exactly injury-prone, but certainly an issue for a Titans team that has been plagued with injuries the past few seasons. That’s likely the biggest factor in Tennessee not bringing him back.

As far as the dollar amount is concerned, Davis did very well for himself, with the AAV of $10 million ranking 13th among all guards upon signing. Spotrac had originally estimated Davis would net $7.4 million per.
