Report: Vikings restructure contract of LB Jordan Hicks

The Vikings reportedly restructured the contract of linebacker Jordan Hicks to bring him back for 2023

The Minnesota Vikings entered Monday morning with around $7 million in cap space to clear. Per NFL insider Adam Caplan, the Vikings have restructured LB Jordan Hicks to keep him around for the final year of his contract.

Terms of the restructure were not disclosed. With Hicks set to have a cap hit of $6.5 million on the final year of his deal, the restructure is likely to mean a pay cut instead of a true restructure where the Vikings would push money back. They have been unwilling to move money to 2024 with that being their priority.

With a really deep linebacker class, it’s probably smart for Hicks to stay. He would get lost and likely make less than what the Vikings were going to give him.
