Rams agree to trade Jalen Ramsey to Dolphins for 3rd-rounder, TE Hunter Long

The Rams have agreed to trade Jalen Ramsey to the Dolphins for a third-round pick and TE Hunter Long

The Los Angeles Rams have found a trade partner for Jalen Ramsey. According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, they’re trading Ramsey to the Miami Dolphins in exchange for a third-round pick and tight end Hunter Long.

The third-rounder will be the 77th overall selection, which comes eight slots after the Rams’ own pick at No. 69.

With Ramsey joining the Dolphins, he’ll also get an adjusted contract that gives him $36.9 million fully guaranteed over the next two years. On his current contract with the Rams, Ramsey was set to get just $5 million guaranteed in the next three years, so it’s a hefty payday for the All-Pro cornerback.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Network shared the news of Ramsey’s tweaked contract, which the cornerback will be thrilled about.

Ramsey spent the last three-plus years with the Rams after being acquired in a trade with the Jaguars during the 2019 season, a deal that included two first-round picks. The Rams also gave up a fourth-rounder for Ramsey in that trade.

Over his three-plus seasons in LA, Ramsey picked off 10 passes and had two sacks, earning All-Pro honors twice in the last three years.
