The breakdown as to which matches are on which night of WrestleMania 39 hasn’t been made official just yet, probably because the card isn’t quite finalized. But it makes sense that the people in some of those matches know when they are, and Logan Paul appears to be one of them.
On the latest episode of the Impaulsive podcast (h/t Wrestling Observer), Paul said he was told his bout with Seth Rollins, finalized this week on Raw, will take place April 1. That would put it on night 1 of WrestleMania, and also mean Paul would be wrestling on his 28th birthday.
In case there were any doubts about who would be the face and heel in this program, they were put to rest on Monday. Rollins is currently in the position where it would be difficult for him to be anything but a fan favorite (though he’s certainly skilled enough to do so if necessary) simply because singing along with his entrance theme is one of the most popular pastimes for WWE crowds at the moment.
Paul, meanwhile, showed in Boston that he already has a knack for drawing heat when needed, running down the city and generally acting like the arrogant, entitled outsider that Rollins claims he is. One thing he said rings true, however: He is indeed good at the in-ring aspect of professional wrestling, particularly for someone with so little experience.
The WrestleMania 39 card currently consists of eight matches, and if previous years where it was a two-night event are any indication, it’s logical to expect that anywhere from four to six more bouts will end up being added. While Paul vs. Rollins could be the night 1 main event, it’s more likely that one of the women’s championship matches will occupy that spot, so it will be interesting to see if it might instead be the match that kicks off this year’s show in Los Angeles.
