AEW World Champion MJF is one of the best in the business at blurring the lines between reality and entertainment. For example, even though many believe he signed a contract extension with AEW last year, he continues to express his desire to test free agency — and in particular, jump to WWE — as soon as 2024 rolls around.
But he may have taken his act a tad too far on Sunday night at AEW Revolution. Early on in his Iron Man match with Bryan Danielson, MJF found himself on the other side of the barricade out in the crowd. While there, he took a drink and splashed it on a young man, a kid, really, sitting in his seat.

No big deal, right? When things happen in the crowd, it’s with people who are in on the act, so no harm done.
Actually, maybe not.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful first tweeted that the young man, named Titus, was not a plant, and that AEW personnel had to go smooth things over with him.
It seems like the kid MJF threw the drink on wasn't a plant. He was very upset. @WilliamRBR went and got him an Acclaimed foam finger. Some others from AEW talked to the child to help smooth things over. Amanda Huber is sitting with him now

It was also addressed during the post-event press conference. MJF was unapologetic. Naturally.

But Tony Khan said that he addressed the champ’s actions with MJF when asked by Fightful’s Will Washington if there would be consequences (h/t Cageside Seats).
We had a conversation before we came up here — a serious conversation, and I mean that. And it’s not to be taken lightly. The young man, Titus, was a real pro about it. And we’ll see Titus here again in AEW, and I believe Titus is actually coming to Sacramento [where Dynamite is this Wednesday]. But I was just with him, and he was a real champ about it. And you know, the champion didn’t act like a champion there. But I think Titus was great.
Khan himself has been known to lean into the showbiz side of things on occasions, but he’s probably being sincere here when he says he talked to MJF about it. The champ is going to continue what’s served him so well on his rise to the top of AEW, but there are moments when he’s probably better off reigning it in just a tad, and this appears to be one of them.
