Possible top-10 pick Tyree Wilson’s wingspan is unthinkably almost longer than Giannis Antetokounmpo’s

And Giannis already has an absurd wingspan!

Tyree Wilson entered the 2023 NFL Scouting Combine with top-10 pick hype. For someone who didn’t run the 40-yard dash during testing on Thursday, all the edge rusher likely had to do was show off some of his impressive physical tools. (And maybe it wasn’t a bad thing that he didn’t “crush” it.)

You better believe he didn’t disappoint.

When NFL Network reporter Stacey Dales asked the 6-foot-6 Texas Tech product to show off his wingspan at the podium Wednesday, Wilson stretched his arms out from end to end. And for a second, when you see the photo, it’s almost as if they keep going and going.

Officially, after measurements, Wilson has an 86-inch wingspan. Folks: that is the wingspan of an NBA player. Nay, that is the wingspan of an absurdly athletic NBA player:

Wait a minute. Wilson’s 86-inch wingspan seems ridiculously high compared to someone famous, right? That’s because it does. It’s actually almost higher than that of the NBA’s best player, Giannis Antetokounmpo, who has an 87-inch wingspan.

There’s one crucial caveat. Antetokounmpo stands at 6-foot-11 — five inches taller than Wilson. Phew, boy. If I don’t know any better, Wilson’s basketball player arms will knock down a lot of passes at the line of scrimmage at the next level.
