Report: Colts to hire Cam Turner as QBs coach

The Colts are reportedly hiring Cam Turner as the new QBs coach.

The Indianapolis Colts are reportedly hiring Cam Turner as the quarterbacks coach under new head coach Shane Steichen, per Tom Pelissero of NFL Network on Wednesday.

With Steichen as the head coach and Jim Bob Cooter hired as the offensive coordinator, they bring in Turner as the quarterbacks coach after spending the last five seasons with the Arizona Cardinals.

Turner, 35, got his start coaching in the NFL with the Minnesota Vikings as the assistant to the head coach for two seasons (2011-2012) under Leslie Frazier.

After going back to the collegiate ranks as Florida International’s quarterbacks and wide receivers coach (2013-2014), Turner returned to the NFL coaching circle as the assistant quarterbacks coach with the Carolina Panthers (2017, working closely with Cam Newton.

After the one-year stint in Charlotte, Turner joined the Cardinals coaching staff under Steve Wilks in 2018 and remaind on the staff when Kliff Kingsbury took over in 2019. He started out as an offensive assistant (2018) before getting a promotion to assistant quarterbacks coach (2019) and then held both roles simultaneously in 2020.

Turner was promoted to quarterbacks coach for the 2021 season and added co-passing game coordinator duties to his role in 2022.
