What Lance Zierlein says about UNC wide receiver Antoine Green

Here is what NFL draft analyst Lance Zierlen had to say about UNC football wide receiver Antoine Green.

The 2023 NFL Scouting Combine kicks off this week in Indianapolis as prospects will head to the Circle City to try and impress teams.

North Carolina will send four players to Indianapolis to participate as Josh Downs, Antoine Green, Asim Richards, and Noah Taylor will all be there to try and improve their draft stock. Green will be one of two UNC receivers to participate this week after he had a good showing in the East-West Shrine Bowl in January.

Green became a go-to target for quarterback Drake Maye after Downs suffered an injury early in the season. While he wasn’t the most productive receiver at UNC, he flashed his abilities at times. Now, he’s hoping to find a role in the NFL for the next step in his career.

Ahead of the combine, analyst Lance Zierlein wrote on Green and gave his scouting report on the receiver:

Green’s size and deep-ball success make him a more intriguing Day 3 prospect than the overall production and skill set might suggest. Like most vertical specialists, he’s not going to shake man coverage on intermediate routes, but he has decent hands and consistently finds himself overtaking deep coverage with his build-up speed. He might find himself fighting for a spot on a practice squad or the back end of a roster.

Right now, Green projects to be a Day 3 pick come April’s draft but as we have seen in the past, the combine can really help a player’s draft stock which can go a long way in the next two months.
