There’s not much time left in the 2022-23 college basketball season, so every win is a big one. Especially for the UNC basketball program who is on the wrong side of the bubble.
The Tar Heels’ kept their NCAA Tournament hopes alive with a win over Notre Dame on Wednesday night but it wasn’t enough to move them up in bracketology. It was just enough to keep them where they were going into the game, although that’s not a bad thing.
After Wednesday’s games, ESPN Bracket expert Joe Lunardi provided a small update to his bracketology. In that update, he has UNC still at No. 69 which is the first team out of the NCAA Tournament:

It didn’t make sense for UNC to move up, especially with Wisconsin also winning on Wednesday as well. The Badgers are one of the last four teams in along with USC who plays Thursday, Mississippi State, and Oklahoma State.
The only thing that really matters for North Carolina is that they finish their season strong by winning as many of the three games left as they can.
