Tyreek Hill’s Twitter activity around Caleb Williams had fans convinced he was over Tua Tagovailoa

Tagovailoa’s a good QB, but is Hill looking to greener pastures?

The Miami Dolphins and Tua Tagovailoa may have enjoyed a somewhat resurgent season in 2022, but some players could be looking toward perceived greener pastures.

After USC’s Caleb Williams — the reigning Heisman Trophy winner and the presumed potential top pick in the 2024 NFL Draft — told People in an interview that the Dolphins might be his preferred landing spot, one of Tagovailoa’s top targets had an interesting reaction.

That is, if activity on Twitter indicates anything.

As a 2022 First-Team All-Pro and one of the best playmakers in pro football, Hill’s opinions (made indirect or not) will be closely watched by people. So it was rather intriguing when Hill liked a tweet about Williams saying he’d potentially want to play for the Dolphins.

Tyreek Hill's Twitter like of report Caleb Williams appreciates the Dolphins
Hmm

There are a lot of possible interpretations here. It’s hard to be sure.

Is Hill unhappy with Tagovailoa? Need I remind everyone, Tagovailoa was the NFL’s leader in passer rating among qualified players and was a viable MVP candidate for most of the 2022 season.

Is Hill simply appreciating that a talented young QB like Williams wants to play with the Dolphins, especially as he specifically complimented Hill and other weapons like Jaylen Waddle?

This also disregards how bad the Dolphins would have to be in 2023 even to have a chance at drafting Williams. Either they’d be the worst team in the league (unlikely) or be within screaming distance of a blockbuster draft trade (also unlikely).

Nonetheless, these sentiments are a lot to read into from one like on Twitter. But NFL fans still had their thoughts about Williams’ professional team preference.
