Boston’s Tatum (55 points), Brown (35 points) lead scoring in Team Giannis’ 184-175 ’23 All-Star win

Tatum won the All-Star Most Valuable Player award as well with his record-setting performance.

With Joe Mazzulla coaching Team Giannis and Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum playing for Team LeBron and Team Giannis, respectively, the Boston Celtics were well-represented in the Salt Lake City for the 2023 NBA All-Star Game.

It did not take long for Boston’s dynamic do to start doing damage to each other’s All-Star squads. Brown and Tatum were two of the offense-oriented affair’s hottest scorers early. The sizzling matchup between the two was among the high points of the annual exhibition contest. Tatum led all scorers (and set the all-time scoring record) with 55 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists to lead Mazzulla’s Team Giannis to a 184-175 win over Team LeBron.

Brown might have had the best of Tatum one-on-one by a hair, but the Georgia native also led Team LeBron in scoring with 35 points, 15 boards, and 5 assists off of the bench, two Celtics the top two scorers of the game.

Tatum earned the All-Star Game Most Valuable Player award with his record-setting performance.
