The 2023 college football recruiting class is all but wrapped up, however, there is still one domino that has yet to fall.
The final five-star player that hasn’t made the decision on where they will play is Duce Robinson. The top tight end prospect in the country from Pinnacle High School in Phoenix, Arizona.
Up until this point, it seemed like a foregone conclusion that Robinson would head east to play for the Georgia Bulldogs. After all, they know how to utilize tight ends in the passing game. Just look at Brock Bowers and Darnell Washington.
One aspect that could have changed Robinson’s mind was offensive coordinator Todd Monken heading back to the NFL with the Baltimore Ravens. They hired a familiar name Mike Bobo to replace him.
On Thursday, 247Sports recruiting analyst Blair Angulo submitted a crystal ball prediction in favor of the USC Trojans, flipping his original prediction of Robinson joining Georgia.
Provided that Robinson signs with Lincoln Riley and the Trojans, it would give them a major boost in the recruiting rankings. Currently, USC holds the No. 12 class. Adding a third five-star recruit would bump them all the way to No. 4 just ahead of Riley’s old team, Oklahoma. The Trojans would only trail the Alabama Crimson Tide, Georgia Bulldogs, and Texas Longhorns.
