The Tampa Bay Buccaneers made it official Thursday evening, announcing the hiring of Dave Canales as their new offensive coordinator.
Reports started circulating Wednesday night, with multiple outlets confirming that the Seattle Seahawks’ quarterbacks coach would be taking over in Tampa Bay for Byron Leftwich.
Canales comes to Tampa after spending his entire 13-year NFL career in Seattle, after joining Pete Carroll’s staff in the college ranks at USC. He’s served in multiple roles over that span for the Seahawks, coaching wide receivers and quarterbacks, as well as being their passing game coordinator.
