Oklahoma Sooners continue dominant run in win over Texas Tech

The Oklahoma Sooners picked up another big win Wednesday night over Texas Tech and are rolling as they head into the final stretch.

Things couldn’t be going any better for the Oklahoma Sooners on the hardwood. They’ve won five in a row, including an emotional come-from-behind win in Waco over Baylor.

With the No. 2 offense in the country, the Sooners are a threat to anyone in the country and have a shot at winning the Big 12 regular season title. They’ve got a couple of tough matchups upcoming against Kansas and Texas, but if Oklahoma can keep their shooting touch going, they’ll be in a great spot to pick up their first regular season title in more than a decade.

As a team, they’re shooting 45.8% from the field this season and 35% from three. Oklahoma has four players averaging 11 points or more in 2022-2023.

If there’s an area in which the Oklahoma Sooners can improve over their final four games is on the defensive end of the floor. They might lead the conference in scoring but are also last in the Big 12 in scoring defense, allowing 76 points per game. Some of that is due to the pace in which the play. They’ve allowed the most field goal attempts per game but are also sixth in the Big 12 in field goal percentage allowed. Jennie Baranczyk has the Sooners No. 5 in scoring differential this season.

Oklahoma has a chance to make a statement over the next week and a half and earn a top four seed in the NCAA tournament come March Madness.
