New Bucs OC Dave Canales thanks Seahawks as he heads to Tampa Bay

As he leaves to become the Bucs’ offensive coordinator, Dave Canales thanks the Seahawks after a 13-year tenure in Seattle

After 13 years with the Seattle Seahawks, Dave Canales is heading out to chart his own path as the offensive coordinator for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Canales came to Seattle from USC, as head coach Pete Carroll brought him up to the next level, where he held various roles with the Seahawks over the years. He took some time late Wednesday evening to thank the Seahawks and their fans for his long tenure with the franchise before he heads to Tampa Bay.

After helping Geno Smith resurrect his career on the way to NFL Comeback Player of the Year honors, Canales will now inherit a Bucs offense that was one of the most frustrating and disappointing in the league last season, averaging just 18 points per game after back-to-back seasons of more than 30 points per contest.
