Patriots owner Robert Kraft believes Jeff Bezos would be ‘a great owner’

The Patriots owner would approve of Jeff Bezos as Commanders’ owner.

New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft and Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones may be the two most powerful owners in the NFL. So when one speaks on another potential new owner, it’s noteworthy.

Kraft was a guest on FOX Business with Neil Cavuto last week, and the potential sale of the Washington Commanders was brought up.

Cavuto asked Kraft about Amazon founder Jeff Bezos possibly buying the Commanders from current owner Dan Snyder.

“Well, uh, my understanding is that the team is up for sale, and they hired Bank of America to do it,” Kraft said. “I’m not really privy to who all the buyers are. I think Jeff, you know, is probably one of the most competent businesspeople in the world. What he’s done, built a company like that and built the scale, and maintained quality, he is definitely a tremendous operator. And for those of us that are privileged to own NFL franchises, it’s the one thing I believe, more than anything, that builds community. And we need good operating people in their individual towns, and I think Jeff would be a great owner.”

The last update regarding Washington’s potential sale wasn’t a positive one. There are believed to be two bidders at the moment, and neither have met Snyder’s reported asking price of $7 million. Neither is reported to Bezos, but he allegedly remains interested.

Of course, we’ve also heard the reports that the sale is expected to be completed by the NFL owner’s meetings in late March.

Either way, you will likely hear rumors about Washington’s potential sale until the ink is dried. And until that time, Bezos remains a serious contender because he can outbid anyone. Due to his massive wealth, of course, the other NFL owners would happily welcome him to their exclusive club.
